Joos & Ira

Joos & Ira picked a beautiful day in August. The day started out in Dendermonde and we literally just had to cross the town square to go to city hall. After church and a short lunch stop, ‘het Kasteel van Lebbeke’ played host for a sunny reception and dinner.

When around Joos & Ira you can just feel their love, and when you see the twinkles in Joos his eyes when Ira walks down the stairs , and later when she was walking down the isle you see how deep that love really goes.

It was a great day with a very warm family, great friends, lovely details, yummy champagne and I was very glad I could be your photographer! Really, thanks for letting me be part of your day.

I tried my best to narrow down the preview posted here but I really had a hard time selecting favorites. So for those interested, you can see the full set here. Enjoy!

Wedding Marleen & Bart

Behind the scenes

Because a lot of people seem to appreciate this I’ve decided to included a new “behind the scenes” area in this & future posts where I’ll try to share some background stories and technical info on some of the pictures posted. You’ll find that chapter below the post, just above the comments (hint). Unlike my posts where my state of tiredness determines the language, the behind the scenes post will always be english. If you have any questions, do send em in!

Behind the scenes

The minute I walked in I knew where the best light would be for a first look. Not to have Bart disappear in the darker background and to have a bit of seperation I placed a flash behind the balloons. (I love playing around when there is time) Testing the light earlier allowed me to adjust the exposure by the time Bart walked in

I really envisioned hallway picture framing the couple , hallway & stairs but didn’t have good light. The hallway was white so I placed a flash on the ground aimed (camera left behind the wall) and bounced it off the walls. Triggered by PW. Took 2 minutes to create an image I otherwise wouldn’t have.
