Ik was net geland in Rome toen ik telefoon kreeg van Marleen, Marleen klonk zooooo superenthousiast dat je eigenlijk op dat moment al weet: dit wordt een knaller. Nog gelukkiger was ze toen ik vertelde nog vrij te zijn op 19 juni. De eerste echte kennismaking kwam er niet veel later en kon ook wel tellen! Hun trouwdag kon er niet snel genoeg zijn! En vanaf de eerste minuut was het genieten, voor het koppel, maar ook voor mij. Cornflakes staan eten met Bart, een knappe bruid die op een leuke gezellige manier toch een tikelte zenuwtjes heeft, leuke details en ballonnen (I love balloons)! Doorheen de dag zijn we een klein beetje tijd verloren waardoor we maar beperkte tijd hadden voor een shoot (20 minuutjes?). De trap & de hal van De Roerdomp deden dienst als decor en leverden iets andere type beelden af dan wat je misschien gewend bent van me. Maar we zijn van plan dit nog ruim te compenseren met een trash-the-dress.
En dat dit een koppel is die “durft” bewijzen ze ook met hun passion pink leather KISS album. Maar die blog ik later nog!

Because a lot of people seem to appreciate this I’ve decided to included a new “behind the scenes” area in this & future posts where I’ll try to share some background stories and technical info on some of the pictures posted. Behind the scenes
The minute I walked in I knew where the best light would be for a first look. Not to have Bart disappear in the darker background and to have a bit of seperation I placed a flash behind the balloons. (I love playing around when there is time) Testing the light earlier allowed me to adjust the exposure by the time Bart walked in
I really envisioned hallway picture framing the couple , hallway & stairs but didn’t have good light. The hallway was white so I placed a flash on the ground aimed (camera left behind the wall) and bounced it off the walls. Triggered by PW. Took 2 minutes to create an image I otherwise wouldn’t have.
